Ed’s Letter

The West Country is a bit of a trailblazer in the food world. Yes, we’re blessed with green pastures, clean coastal waters and a landscape suitable for growing and farming a wide variety of produce. But these raw ingredients would be worthless if it wasn't for our talented, passionate growers, farmers, producers and chefs. We have plenty to celebrate, which is why we produce our ever-popular recipe book.

Now in its third year, A Taste of the West Country has once again brought together award-winning chefs and producers from Taste of the West to create this locally inspired keepsake. Each pair comes from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, bringing you recipes using the finest local produce that is available all year round.

Using ingredients readily available around the region, these dishes have been created specifically for this book – straight from the chef’s kitchen! You needn't be an accomplished cook to recreate them at home: all recipes have been compiled using easy-to-follow steps, and include some handy tips to help you along the way.

Not only will you impress your friends and family with these dishes, but you’re also supporting our local food and drink industry. There’s no better way to celebrate a true Taste of the West Country. We hope you enjoy cooking (and eating) our recipes.
