A Taste of the West Country (2021)

Ed’s Letter

Like many other businesses, food and drink producers have been facing unprecedented times. In these challenging circumstances, we feel it’s important to support and celebrate the West Country’s food and drink scene by bringing you this latest edition of A Taste of the West Country recipe book.

Now, more than ever, reduced food miles, product traceability and welfare standards are key topics for those working in the food industry and for consumers. Many of the producers who feature in this book offer field-to-fork schemes, while the restaurants source their food and drink from neighbouring towns, villages, or even their own kitchen gardens.

Every year, there are hundreds of entries into the coveted Taste of the West Awards. This latest edition of A Taste of the West Country is a pairing of the award-winning chefs and producers from Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset to bring you special recipes, using the finest local ingredients.

The dishes are created exclusively for this book, straight from the chef’s kitchen. With produce readily available around the region, our clear layout and simple steps make it easy to create restaurant-style dishes at home for your friends and family.

By following these recipes, you can both impress your guests and support our food and drink industry; something I think we all feel is particularly important right now.
