A Taste of the West Country

Farm shops, pop-up cafés, street food, artisan bakers, delis and producers, chefs and restaurants – you’d struggle to find anywhere else in the country with as rich a food and drink scene as here in the West Country. Speak to the farmer and he is as passionate as the butcher about his produce, who is as exacting in preparing his cut of meat as the chef is who cooks it for you. We have a lot to celebrate.

So, how best to celebrate the region’s food and drink? Our answer: by working with Taste of the West to create our special range of recipe books: A Taste of the West Country.

Who are Taste of the West

Taste of the West is the largest independent regional food group in the UK. Its aim is to champion food and drink producers in the West Country, as well as all the places that serve and sell the region's delicious produce.

Why is our book different?

Taste of the West runs an annual awards scheme to ensure high standards are maintained – and only winners of these prestigious awards are allowed to take part in this book.

We wanted to create a keepsake that celebrates the people and produce behind our region's wonderful food and drink scene. We paired chefs and producers from across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire to create original recipes that can be prepared at home. Some are more elaborate, others simple and straightforward; all are delicious.
