Ed’s Letter

I’ve never been one to make resolutions at New Year (or at any other time, for that matter), believing that they set me up for a fall. In January, however, I do think about the year ahead and what I’d like to achieve.

This year, I’m planning a staycation – seeing more of Devon and finding a new favourite place to eat. These things are not only really nice to do but also relatively easy to accomplish and stress-free! In this issue, we’ve discovered some lovely places around Devon for gourmet getaways, where you can savour great food and enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep (two things ticked off my list already!).

Our restaurant reviews feature The Carlton Hotel and The Donkey Sanctuary. While offering different styles of food, both share the same ethos when it comes to sourcing quality ingredients. On our events pages, you’ll find a host of cookery courses around Devon, and our news section highlights some foodie places to visit with fun things to try.
